NexusFont is an application that is designed for the use of Windows users. This program enables you to install and edit fonts on your computer. The program allows you to create your own fonts, to modify existing fonts and to view fonts by category or alphabetical order. It also allows you to edit fonts by typing in certain symbols or codes.
The application interface is split into three panes, each pane showing information on the top of the screen. To the left of the main pane you have the library pane. The large pane at the right of this pane displays all your already installed fonts. From there, select a particular font and information about it will appear in the main pane in the middle. The application has its own settings file which you can use to customize its features.
NexusFont was created by two people, Tomi Ahonen and Kari Linden. The two developed the application over a period of two years, initially as a small project to develop an alternative Windows font rendering tool. At the time they realized that many people needed an alternative to Microsoft's default fonts which were very slow to load and were limited in terms of flexibility. The resulting software, NexusFont, combines the best of both worlds. NexusFont supports almost all different types of fonts and has several advanced features such as automatic replacement of missing or broken fonts. This feature is used by some of the larger software packages to enable their users to save time and effort in looking for missing fonts in other applications.
